Sometimes what you need is some alone time, a few days to just take a step back and see where you’re heading in life. You might want to reassess your goals or reaffirm your passion for something. Doing this isn’t exactly possible at home, so why not do it on vacation? It might be a little daunting to travel all by yourself for people who haven’t tried doing so before, but have some faith in yourself and just give it a try. You won’t regret it. You might even find it more special than travelling with other people. Once you’re set on going out to do some soul searching, you need to decide on where to go. The world has so many places to offer the lone traveller, from pristine beaches that seem to stretch as wide as your eyes can see to expansive mountain ranges where the most amazing views await. These are the three best places suited for this kind of travelling.
Panama
Solo travelling is quite common around these parts. Heck, it may even be the norm. This first location is the ideal place to travel to because of its lively and friendly people. When you’re travelling alone, you’re going to need to rely a lot on asking random strangers for directions or advice. This is also the perfect place for those who like fun and adventure as there are tons of things to do. You can go on a zip line adventure, surf the waves, or go white water rafting. There is no need to worry if you’re more of the laid back type of person. The San Blas Islands are an exotic escape from commercialization and tourism. The untouched beauty of these Kuna controlled lands invite you on a peculiar journey to witness what being in nature truly means.
New York City
The Big Apple. Over eighteen million people live here. Even if you travel here alone, there will never be a lonely moment as you’re constantly seeing and interacting with a multitude of people. The concrete jungle where dreams are made of is such a bustling place that you won’t even realize you’re traveling all by yourself as you move from attraction to attraction or from activity to activity. It’s time to spoil yourself with fancy restaurants, luxurious ambiance, and picturesque parks. There are always options for you to choose. You can join the crowd during peak hours or reserve a table for less busier times if you prefer a quieter dining experience. Watch some Broadway Shows or even climb the Empire State Building and feel like you’re on top of the world.
Iceland
Sometimes it’s difficult to travel alone because of the language barriers. Fear not, for Iceland’s residents speak fluent English, and even the signs and menus are mostly in English. There’s no need to scamper around to find that trusty dictionary and frantically search for the right words. Iceland is also known as a popular hub, so you might just me some fellow travellers whom you can share stories and tips with on the road. Don’t forget to catch the northern lights as it’s truly a sight to behold.
