The thought of flying with your toddler can really stress you out. Surely, you have some doubts and fears of traveling with your child in a plane. After all, you will be in a plane flying at 30,000 feet above sea level and you will be in close contact with hundreds of other passengers.
But there is nothing to worry about! In fact, lots of people have done it before so there is no reason for you not to push through it. To help you out, here are some tips that you must keep in mind when flying with a toddler.
Wear simple clothing.
Traveling with a toddler is already stressful itself so don't amp up the stress level by wearing complicated shoes, jewelries and many more. The security lines in the airport is long and quite tedious. When you wear slip-on shoes and simple clothing, you make going through the security lines a lot easier. Just be sure that you and your child have sweaters with you since it tends to be quite cold inside the plane.
Choose the right carry on.
When choosing a carry-on, you must opt for ones that will allow you to use the least amount of hands. May we recommend backpacks and body bags. Also, please ditch the stroller and opt for baby carriers instead. This will allow you to safely maneuver your way through the airport crowd and through the narrow hallways of the plane.
Bring extra clothes and lots of wipes.
Toddlers are known for being messy so there is a high tendency that your child will spill his drinks while you are on the plane. With that in mind, having extra clothes with you will surely be a good idea. Also, you may want to bring lots of wipes to keep your child clean and non-sticky all throughout the plane ride.
Find the best plane seats.
Many parents would surely want to sit in the area with only a few people since children tends to cry and disrupt the precious sleep of other fellow passengers. If that is the case, then it is recommended that you sit at the last row of the plane. However, some people recommend that you opt for bulkhead seats so that you can take advantage of bassinet as well as folding crib which airline companies offer for free.
Bring in the entertainment.
Of course, you have to bring your child's toys to keep them entertained during a ling flight but at times, playing with old toys can bore them out. The key here is to book with an airline that has in-flight entertainment like tv shows and many more.
Make sure that you follow the tips given above when traveling via plane with your kids. Traveling with kids can be quite a hassle but with careful travel planning and a lot of research, you can surely be able to make traveling a lot more comfortable and easier for you and your kids.
