Just like a scent of a familiar perfume or the sound of a memorable song, movies greatly affects our mood. Any cinematic experience that revolves around the travel genre will surely encourage everyone to start their own adventure. Either you’re seeking for something to boost your travel imagination or you’re already on the road, here are the top pics of best travel movies of all time.

The Beach. It is based on a travel/backpack novel by Alex Garland that features a twenty four year old American who loves the idea of world travel. He arrives in Bangkok, Thailand in search for freedom and adventure. At his guesthouse, he met a mentally-disturbed British traveler who tells him about a pristine island in the Gulf of Thailand– untapped by the tourist industry, uninhabited, and forbidden. Searching for that sacred beach is quite dangerous and life threatening, but everything is worth it once they reached their destination.

The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. The story revolves on the friendship of four distinct girl and a one-size fits all pants. Carmen, Tibby, Bridget, and Lena are best friends from Bethesda, Maryland, and for the first time in their friendship, they have to spend the summer separated from each other. Lena spent her romance filled summer in the immaculate Greece, Bridget went to a soccer camp in Mexico, Carmen visited her father in South Carolina, and Tibby was left at home. On their final days together, they bought an ordinary pair of jeans and dub it as the Travelling Pants. Each one get to share them equally over their summer vacation.

Eat, Pray, Love. Liz Gilbert, played by Julia Roberts, had everything any modern woman wants – a loving husband, a house, and a successful career. But at some point she found herself lost, confused, and unhappy. After getting divorced, she started to travel across the world alone hoping that she could find herself again. Her first stop was Italy where she learned how to speak few Italian phrases and join a local family for Thanksgiving where they feasted on mouthwatering authentic Italian dishes. Her next journey was set foot on India where she learned the power of prayer. Lastly, she finds herself in Bali where she finally discovered inner peace and balance of true love.

National Lampoon’s Vacation. It’s a classical comedy film about the vacation adventure of the Griswold family. Through there are several remakes of this film, the original 1983 production is still the best of all. The Griswold’s decided to take a cross-country expedition from Chicago to Los Angeles famous amusement park Walley World.  Their 6-day road trip journey was filled with chaos, laughter, and frustrations.

Soul Surfer. Though this is not your typical feel good vacation movies, Soul Surfer will hit you right in the feels. It’s a story about a talented teenage girl whose left arm was accidentally bitten off by a giant great white shark while she’s resting on her surfboard in the middle of the Hawaiian sea. Yes it’s a very heartfelt story that was set up in the beautiful island of Hawaii.
